The Typhon-X power distributor combines a maximized version of Shunyata Research’s most impactful patented circuit, the QR/BB, with its advanced TAPc technology. Designer Caelin Gabriel refers to the QR/BB as the “engine” that drives the performance of Shunyata Research’s finest power cable and power distributor designs. Acting as an energy-reserve circuit, the QR/BB makes peak energy more readily available to current-sensitive electronics than the wall outlet alone can provide. TAPc removes additional layers of electromagnetic noise, producing an unmistakable improvement in the performance of amplifiers and other connected electronics. Dynamics become more vivid, transient response more immediate and spatial resolution more three-dimensional. For amplifiers, recording consoles, or other high-current components, the Typhon-X delivers an unprecedented level of performance, whether used only with amplifiers or as a two or three-component power distributor.
The Typhon-X’s custom-designed 30A Amphenol twist-lock power input and its substantial internal wiring system are an ideal platform for high current applications. The Amphenol connector features massive, precision-machined contact surfaces made from solid Tellurium copper. This confers exceptionally low contact resistance to peak energy transfer. To support optimal performance, Shunyata Research also manufactures dedicated 30A capable power cords for the Typhon-X utilizing custom military-grade copper connectors.
