Product Description

The Chord Electronics 2YU music server is a digital interface that connects to the Chord 2GO, effectively turning the 2GO/2YU into a fully-functional, standalone music streamer and server. It is only a direct interface for the 2GO, however, the digital outputs can be used to provide a WLAN or LAN connection when combined with other DACs form Chord Electronics or other manufacturers.

Why is this so wonderful? It can turn any Legacy DAC into a Roon endpoint without a direct connection to a computer via USB. You no linger need to be tethered to your computer.

The Chord 2YU offers four digital outputs so it can be connected to any DAC or any other device with a digital input, and it can be connected to Chord’s own Hugo M Scaler / Hugo TT2 to create a state-of-the-art streaming system.

The 2YU connects directly to 2GO to add TOSLINK optical S/PDIF, Coaxial RCA and/or BNC (both 75 ohms) digital outputs, plus a cleverly integrated USB-A output.

The Chord Electronics 2YU music server boasts 2,000 MIPS (million instructions per second) of processing power, an integrated sample rate converter, plus a low-jitter audio phase lock loop. Highly flexible in its potential applications, 2GO with 2YU is also ideal for installers wishing to create a discreet remote Roon streaming solution: the duo can be wired into an Ethernet port to provide streaming to a system in any room. 2YU alone can also be used with PC or Mac via USB to create a high-quality USB-to-digital-audio converter for audio devices that accept a USB input.

Like the 2GO, the 2YU is hand-made in the UK using aircraft-grade aluminum and the same high-quality manufacturing processes inherent in all Chord Electronics products. Like the Hugo 2, 2YU features four polychromatic spherical controls governing output selection, power, mute, and dim functions.

Chord Electronics

Engineering without limits means uncompromising standards for Chord Electronics. The British professional audio company took flight in 1989 when founder and Chief Engineer John Franks found inspiration in his junior engineer job at an avionics company. Aviation electronics demands reliability, performance, and superior attention to detail. That’s exactly what Franks brings to Chord's digital products. His comprehensive knowledge of power supply design and an ethos of doing things ‘right’ regardless of cost and effort sets Chord apart from competitors.  This is reflected in the new and innovative Hugo M Scaler upscaling component.

The BBC received the first Chord amplifiers, followed by world-leading artists and studios, including Abbey Road, Sony Music (New York), and The Royal Opera House. Chord’s audio prowess generated demand for a domestic range. This audiophile-approved range encompasses the design, engineering and build standards the finest professional equipment requires. Today, Chord applies proprietary technologies to all of its British-made products. As a result, you can expect studio-grade audio performance across the entire Chord range encompassing amplifiers, DACs and music streamers from the Mojo 2 to the DAVE DAC.

As a nationally recognized leader in the field of high-end audio and home theater, Overture is a proud dealer of Chord Electronics products.
