Product Description

As you listen to the Acora Acoustics QRC-2 speaker, you will hear immersive space and imaging. You will hear deep, authoritative yet articulate bass. You will hear fine detail and depth. Acora loudspeakers will reveal many things you simply haven’t heard before. The Acora Acoustics SRC-2 utilizes world-class drivers and a hand-built crossover network, however the real secret to the Acora Sound, is that you only hear these, not the enclosure. What you won’t hear is the enclosure.

Acora Acoustics loudspeakers are constructed using handcrafted, specially treated, natural granite enclosures. The rigidity of granite far exceeds that of traditional particle board or wood enclosures. One of the benefits of this is, as the Acora Acoustic SRC-2 drivers move to push air / create sound, the enclosure isn’t absorbing this energy, dulling or smearing the sound. Another benefit of the Acora enclosure is that it does not need internal bracing to “stiffen” the enclosure. This means that internal cross bracing is not required. No internal bracing means no additional reflections inside the enclosure that will vibrate the low frequency drivers.

Val Acora returned to CAF with his new quartz QRC-1 and QRC-2 two-way Scanspeak driver-equipped loudspeakers, the quartz cabinet material a variation on his former granite-enclosure models. Why quartz? Acora said quartz is more forgiving, easier to work with, provides a more rigid material that holds drivers more securely, and has better sound.

Spinning a vinyl disc on big system one, the RCA Living Stereo version of Ernest Ansermet’s The Royal Ballet Gala Performances including the The Nutcracker, the music floated, apart from the hi-fi system, with excellent detail, resonance, and smooth microdynamic variations. Leading edges of images were starkly visible, yet smooth and rich in tone. Our brain says a hard quartz enclosure will equal hard sound, but the QRC-1 and QRC-2 two-ways were as smooth as silk.

Acora Acoustics SRC-2 Loudspeakers | REVIEW

November 14, 2020 Dave McNair

After living with Acora Acoustics SRC-2 loudspeakers in my listening room, I consider these granite speakers to be the newest member of a very small group of speaker systems that are the absolute state of the art in music reproduction. For the last few months, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible coherence, stunning presentation of spatial information, wide and smooth bandwidth, and limitless ability to reveal dynamic contrasts. The SRC-2s produced the finest sound I’ve yet heard in my system. There, I’ve said it.

So what’s left to say about these? Plenty.
